Hi Jeffrey

The "canonical" format for Core Audio is 32 bit float, as described in this document:

Hi,

I am writing a program to record data (audio) from the default audio device. In this case I am using the powerbooks line-in. I am then sending it to a program called Matlab, but the byte ordering seems to be wrong when it arrives in Matlab. I assumed that the data array I recorded into is Uint32 and is interleaved stereo. Could I be wrong? The device is set to 44100 at 32 bit. The number of bytes I record seem to match up with 32 bit at 44100 for 2 seconds. 2 seconds being the amount of time I recorded. So now I am stuck and wondering if anyone out there might have an idea.

Thanks,
