If you are coming to WWDC this year, we have a session that is an
intro to writing an AU - it goes through the things you need to know
and do...
As for the examples, they should work - we can normally just compile
the SampleEffectAU project and the AU it builds will succeed (pass
auval) - check that you have the latest CoreAudio SDK installed -
http://developer.apple.com/audio (or if you are on Tiger, you
already have)
I've cc'd Luke - so if you have any problems let him know and we'll
sort it out with you
