Hi,

I want to start with audio programming in OSX. The idea is to develop audio units.

Which is the best way of starting?

Definitely the sample code is a good start. This list has a searchable webpage for topics also: http://lists.apple.com/archives/Coreaudio-api/
See the search button on the bottom of the page. Lots of threads with good information.

I tried to compile the example that comes in the developer directory

I assume you mean SampleEffect.

and then run it

I assume you mean run auval on it.

buts it fails by the time of au check.

If you mean auval, I just noticed that too, but if you change your build style to Depolyment the collision between Component and Resource version is resolved.

If you mean run in a host, many hosts will not use Audio Units that do not pass validation.

Have fun!

cheers,

Nuno Santos
