On Mac OS X you don't write a SoundMgr component, instead you write a
Core Audio Driver. There are some basic details on
http://developer.apple.com/audio
There are many people on this list who have been involved in the
process of writing these drivers, so you will find some very helpful
people to answer your questions here I am sure

Hi all ,
I am writing sinp component for a very simple audio input device( 1
channel , 1 input ) . But I am not able to find proper documentation
for it . In Inside Mach : sound , there is documentation for sound
output component but not for sinp . Can I use this for sinp also ?
In my component , I am able to include the standard component calls (
Like open, close ,version) but when I try to include Sound component
specific functions like GetInfo ,GetSource,SetSource etc , it says
that these functions are undeclared though I have used these function
names in dispatch file . Am I missing something here ?
I have already written VDig component and am aware of component
concepts . How is the implementation of sinp different from VDig?
Pls suggest
Thanks and regards
