You must be testing with a pre-Tiger OS.
TC has confirmed with me that Spark XL 2.82 is broken under Tiger.
It cannot quit, but must be "force quit." It also takes over
Coreaudio, and won't let go, necessitating a re-start, if you want to
change sample rates, clock selection, or other major parameters.
Since it's no longer supported by TC, it is unlikely that this major
problem will be repaired.
