New way for Cocoa AU hosts to wrap Carbon AU GUIs?

I noticed that AULab isn't having the same drawbacks that Cocoa apps used to have when wrapping Carbon AU GUIs, as described in the document "Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/Documentation/AudioUnits/ CarbonViewCocoaWindow.rtfd"...

I followed these relatively old rules and my apps work OK, but still have the "front but inactive window" issues, amongst others. I'd like to do it the way AULab does it.

Is there a new method behind it, or did the Apple AUs finally get Cocoa GUIs in 'em?

What's the trick?
