Compositing or not?

  • Subject: Compositing or not?

Hi, I know that there has already been a discussion on this subject on the list,
but is there any way whatsoever for a host to know whether a particular AudioUnit
prefers compositing or not? Try for example to run the plugins from digitalfishphones
and Ray Gun Pro in the AudioUnitHosting app. The former works *only* if compositing
is turned off (I heard that SoundSoap has the same problem but couldn't test for myself)
and the latter *only* if compositing is turned on.

So now I have to make a choice and it seems to me that whatever choice I make
(on, off, or give the option to the user) there will be some unhappy people ranting
at me. (In the last case because they have no clue about what "compositing" means.)
So now what? Thanks for any advice, I am clueless...

Martin
