PlaySequence Example Code Is Broken

  • Subject: PlaySequence Example Code Is Broken
  • From: Jim Nevin <email@hidden>

When building and running the PlaySequence example and using the "-e" argument (use midi endpoints), I get the following error, indicating a bad call to another component:

PlaySequence Error follows:
------------------------------------
2005-10-05 12:37:55.919 PlaySequence[1083]: DebugAssert: Third Party Client: result = AudioUnitGetProperty (theSynth, kMusicDeviceProperty_StreamFromDisk, kAudioUnitScope_Global, 0, &value, &size) == 0 [-2147450879 = badComponentInstance] fail [/ Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/Services/PlaySequence/main.cpp:285]
Error = -2147450879

PlaySequence has exited with status 1.
------------------------------------

I am using a freshly installed Xcode 2.1 (on OSX 10.4), which we're told contains proper binaries and headers for related components.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Thanks,

j
