You can use what is called "asyncronous" audio, meaning having no link
between USB clock and masterclock/samplerate to get around this. That's
basically what we are doing with our USB developments.

BTW, if someone at Apple could look into my bug report ID4105986 from
May, 3rd 2005 (status open) regarding Mac OS X native support on async
USB Audio that would be greatly appreciated.
