Mike,
Is the software available for download? The Edirol website still
states that the device is not supported.
Thanks,
David

the Edirol UA-101 seems to be the only product that uses USB 2.0 high-
speed multi-channel, high frequency I/O. Most products use FireWire.
On Windows XP, core USB driver functionality for High Speed isochronous
audio was broken for a long time. Microsoft had no hardware to test
with.
After a long process Microsoft released a USB update and we were able to
release the UA-1000.
At the same time, OSX also had core functionality problems for High
Speed
isochronous audio. Apple had no hardware to test with. Some time after
releasing UA-1000 for Windows we were able to develop an OSX driver.
Then
Apple was able to test and fix high speed isoch on OSX. It was ready for
prime time earlier this year and we released our OSX driver.
In both cases, we released vendor specific drivers because there was no
class specification defining audio on High Speed USB.
Is it because the USB 2.0 Audio spec has not been completed?
(Speaking of which, does anyone know when it will be complete?
The USB Specification for Audio Devices was recently approved as a
version
1.9. That means the working group considers it complete and it now
goes out
for review. If there are no significant changes needed, the final
version
2.0 should be released in about a month.
We have developed and released both High Speed USB and Firewire devices.
Each interface has pros and cons. There are many determining factors
as to
which is better for a specific device.
Regards,
Mike.
