Hi Jeff,
To follow up, it turns out that both FuzzMeasure and Audio MIDI Setup
work fine with the 896 and 896HD, as was reported to me by some
helpful users. This one particular customer, unfortunately, could
still not get his device to talk to FuzzMeasure.
The only difference I could find was that he had ROM version 1.02 and
an 896HD user with a working FuzzMeasure setup had ROM version 1.01.
The customer with the non-working setup couldn't downgrade, and I
decided a refund made the most sense in this case. So, we may never
know what went wrong here.

The only thing unusual about the 896 that I can recall is that it
has a stream layout that is moderately funky. If I remember
correctly, it has only a few of streams where the first one will
have 8 channels and the others will have 2 or 8 depending on the
settings of the device. The ASBD that a client will see for these
streams will just show the usual Float32 samples with the
appropriate sample rate and number of channels.
Do you know if the MOTU Traveler shares the same layout? I'd like to
get my hands on one and experiment with FuzzMeasure speaking to these
more exotic stream layouts with a debugger nearby.
Thanks,
