Many of the free and cheap PC VSTs are made using SynthEdit, are they
not? I wish there was something like it on the Mac. You can buy Reaktor
and make synths, but you can't share them except with other people who
have Reaktor. I've considered buying it so I can have access to all the
free ensembles. I understand it's more capable than SynthEdit. Just a
lot more expensive.

I'm starting to try out the synths from the smaller devs. Just picked up
Vanguard and I'm delighted with the sound, CPU use, programming that's
available, and value.
I've considered hooking up a PC so I can try the VSTs but even if I find
something I like I'm not willing to have another computer in my studio.
I understand there's a way to use PC VSTs in Linux. Would be nice to be
able to do that on an intel Mac. I should get right on that :-)
