Daniel,

This is a good observation, and I will try to fix this in the next update of the application. There will be a new version that will be shipping soon that contains some bug fixes and a couple of new features. I'm not sure exactly when it will be available, but it will be sooner rather than later.

I'm glad you like the application, and encourage you to file bugs and feature requests against AU Lab using bug reporter:

http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/

We are still actively developing this application and would love to incorporate more user feedback. As for publishing the source, I can't really comment on that.

Thanks for your feedback.

First - thanks to anybody who might be reading who is responsible for the AULab application. It's very cool! Any chance of publishing the source?

I really appreciate the detailed documentation. I went searching through it today trying to figure out how to get AULab to "just open up" instead of always prompting me for an input device.

I have "Create a default document" selected as my startup preference, but it still prompts me every time!

Looking in the docs:

file:///Developer/Applications/Audio/AU Lab Documentation/ AULabHelp/Preferences.html#Document Settings

I see the explanation: "This option will behave the same as Show Document Configuration Dialog if there are more than one devices connected to the machine."

Boo hoo! It's enough to make me want to unplug my MOTU. Is there any way around this? Why can't AULab just accept my default device when this preference is set?

Thanks for your help,
Daniel
