I presume by bad, you mean the pitch is too high?
FF is mostly implemented through a skipping notion at some point,
rather than trying to play all of the content. The time pitch will
start to sound pretty bad the further away from unity that you get -
its max value is 4X (or 0.25X) for that reason.

when slowing audio down or forwarding it, auvarispeed sounds
really good, as long as I don't do that too fast. if I exceed +2.5
the quality gets really bad. could you suggest any alternative to
varispeed in order to enable the use to forward a track very fast
and still hear it.
hope someone has a hint.
