I'm not entirely sure either. What AU type is your AU now? Does it
show up normally in the inserts menu of DP tracks?

Recently, a user of one of my plugins asked me to implement it as
an "aux track" plugin so it would work correctly within digital
performer. I've never used DP, so I'm not exactly sure what needs
to be done to my plugin to make it work with this type of send.
When I asked for clarification, he wrote:
"An aux track is a special type of audio track that routes an input
directly
to an output. It's used as an individual signal path within DPs
mixer. It's
simply a routing mechanism, but doesn't allow recording into
itself. It
does, however, have all the same inserts, etc as an audio track.
I use an aux track to bring in virtual instruments from another
computer
into DP so I can mix everything, including hardware synths or virtual
instruments all within the DP mixing board. Example: an electric
piano on my
second mac coming out of it's audio interface into the interface on
the main
(sequencing-DP) Mac and routed through an aux track, right
alongside all my
actual audio tracks with audio info on them, making that elec piano
aux
track behave exactly like the audio track residing right next to
it, but
with it's own efx, inserts, etc."
I understand what he's looking for, but have no idea how to
acutally do it short of not implementing a kernel or
ProcessBufferLists, which I don't think will work. How do I make
my AU compatible with this type of send?
Thanks,
-Nik
