i have a firewire 410

Alot of times after i turn the systenm back on it does not recognise the 410/ Also i am having alot of problems in my locic software it seems that the numbers say 48khz But when syncing MIDI it reads A little above 44.1Khz Whats the deally yo ....
Help me iam an old mac user9.1 and recently Bought the G5 os10.4.6
