Tom,
Perhaps you can explain why your plugin's latency is a function of Maximum
Frames Per Slice. It seems like a strange choice to make. Why can't you
simply pick the smallest latency that will work for your particular algorithm,
report that as a constant value, and then code your plug to only work that way?

Stefan and Will, thanks for the helpful responses

plugins to detect 'Logic Live' mode, and alter their latency accordingly.
This would seem to be the case for any plugin whose latency is a function of
the value provided by SetMaxFrameSlices. This is unfortunate, as it means
Logic Live mode will be ineffective for any tracks with our plugins on them.
I note that recent UAD1 software now has an option to force its plugins to
follow Logic's live mode, so there must be 'workaround' ways to do it,
presumably relying on certain assumptions.
Stefan has informed me of the logic-au list, so I'll post there in future for
these kinds of issues.
Thanks
Tom Davies
