and thanks very much for your tip.

I followed the hint's suggestions, but I didn't yet get how do I get "Based on" to display an option like described. E.g. "You simply drag a reference to the “.xcconfig” file to your project" - could you please suggest me how this is done?

See Hint #2 for details. I use a similar method to get FuzzMeasure Pro 2 compiling on both SDKs (basically, 10.3.9+ for PPC, and 10.4u for i386). The difference is that I use gcc4 for both platforms, and set my deployment target to 10.3.
