Dropouts while Graph is running

  • Subject: Dropouts while Graph is running

When my Graph is running I notice discontinuous requests for audio in both
my AUGraphAddRenderNotify function, and the InputProc for the file players
that are hooked to the mixer. Is there anywhere in the documentation or a
former discussion on this list that someone can point me to that elaborates
on when/why a Graph will skip buffers, and strategies to minimize it
happening?

When I detect that some frames have been skipped I pull the appropriate
amount of data from all of the sound files in the InputProc. I believe that
will keep my timings accurate, but there is an audible gap sometimes. Any
other thoughts on the matter?
