As far as I know, there aren't any APIs like this on the system. All
of the hardware play-through controls are managed in the HAL either
directly as AudioControl objects or indirectly through the
AudioDevice properties for the basic set of controls.
At any rate, to my knowledge there is no hardware that currently
supports these controls. I have spoken with several developers that
have said they are interested in providing the support, but so far
haven't released anything. As such, applications can use the next
best thing to hardware for testing this: the AudioReflectorDriver in
our sample code. The AudioReflectorDriver makes a stab at
implementing all the various kinds of controls it can, including all
the various play-through related controls.

I know I have asked this in the past, but now that audio device

maybe some capabilities were added as well:
What audio hardware currently supports the core audio API for play-
through... SetPlaythroughVolume, SetPlaythroughDestination, etc?
I need to buy some hardware in order to test playthrough in my
application.
