Yep. It is never easy in the kernel. If you look at the Technote Jeff
posted, it goes into some detail as to how to configure your project to do a
universal build; as long as you special case this new method with the
__i386__ variable and follow the directions in the Tech Note, it all works
pretty well, and it is pretty much a one-time thing to set up. Then you just
have to deal with whatever endian issues remain (unless you already have
that sorted out).
