That's what Cynthia was pointing too. If you've installed the developer tools, sample code, docs, etc (usually just the default install of XCode works), then you have a directory entitled / Developer on your system.

In there, there are a number of sub-directories:
Applications
- you'll find XCode here, AU Lab in the Audio directory, Graphics tools, etc...

Examples
- here are a number of directories from different technologies - Cocoa, Carbon, CoreAudio, QuickTime, etc..

The /Developer/Examples/CoreAudio directory contains both a collection of sample code and documentation, including a number of examples of Audio Units - the SampleEffectAU is probably the simplest to get started with, but you should also look at the AUFilter example as well. I'm sure if you look around here, read the docs you should be able to get oriented.

If you don't have this directory installed, then there is something wrong with the installation of your developer tools and you should direct questions about that to the general dev tools (XCode) email list

Hello all!

I was about to post the same question, but this directory / Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/AudioUnits/ doesn't exist on my system. I do have XCode installed with all CoreAudio options checked.

It is very hard for me to understand what are the requirements of the most simple AudioUnit - how to specify parameters, their types and ranges, how to use these parameters, etc. Can anyone point me to the source code of a simple AU like an amplifier?

Thanks,

Artemiy.
