Problems with OpenAComponent

Hi All, I've written a VST/AU host specifically designed for debugging plugins, and some of my users have reported problems when using it to load MOTU's MX4 synth plugin. Basically, it looks like the call to FindNextComponent() succeeds, and a valid Component resource is returned. However, when the subsequent call to OpenAComponent() is made, the program hangs (until killed with signal 9), and I get the following output to the command line:

SystemFlippers: didn't consume all data for vers ID 1 (pBase = 0x184c600, p = 0x184c64c, pEnd = 0x184c806)

This is on an Intel Mac, OSX 10.4.8, btw. I haven't had a chance to test this behavior under PPC mac yet. Any suggestions or debugging hints would be greatly appreciated!
