When encoding AAC, QuickTime will downsample all audio at rates > 48 kHz
to the sample rate selected in either the MPEG-4 Export Options Dialog >
Audio Tab OR QuickTime Movie Export Options > Sound Settings Dialog. 24
bit data is handled only when the Codec quality is set to Best in the same
dialogs mentioned previously.

This is likely to vary depending on the source content. For best results
you may want to try both approaches and then do an A/B comparison of the
resultant encoded files.
