I've recently been looking at parsing BWF's as well.
These links might prove useful since some of them provide (short)
example files and PDF's of the file format description:-

index.php (do a 'Find' for t-3285)

I am interested in using the broadcast wave file format within
core audio, while maintaining its metadata from the BEXT chunk. It
appears that core audio currently supports the wave format but not
the broadcast wave extensions. A quick look at the api seems to
suggest that the proper way to add this support would be with an
AudioFileComponent. Being that I am completely new to the core
audio api, I would like to just confirm that this is a reasonable
approach to the problem, and ask, is the AudioFileComponent for
'WAVE' available to subclass?
The WAVE component is not sub-classable
If you could file a bug listing the missing pieces for BWF we'd
take a look at supporting them (including an example file (short!)
if possible)
Thanks
Bill
Thanks,
Dave
