There are about 3ms of buffering from when CoreAudio writes a sample until
when it is scheduled to go over USB. As long as your DSP doesn't take
longer than that, you shouldn't have a problem.
Does this hold true on the input side as well? The application that
I've been asked to bid on processes stereo audio into a
'beam-focused' monaural stream.
