Hi,
I was just wondering, because I encountered some issues concerning
Cocoa UIs in Logic.
As far as I know Logic is a Carbon application, which might be the
cause for my issues - but this is just some kind of guess.
The issues are:
- when moving the plug-in window the view turn white for a short
moment when clicking on it.
- keyboard shortcuts don't work correctly when the view is the
windows which is in foreground. (when view is the item on that was
clicked last)
- In some cases when the view is in background it turns white until
it is put in foreground again.
As using Cocoa was the one that was recommended here, I was wondering
if this is a common problem when using Logic, or is there a solution
to my problems?
greetings

Peter,
If your product is non-commercial, then just implement a Cocoa UI and
be done with it. Carbon-only hosts can show parameters in their
default UI. If your product is commercial, and you have a budget for
developing a Carbon UI, then do both. In the commercial world, you
cannot afford to have customers asking why the UI does not appear in
their favorite host. In both cases, though, you should implement a
Cocoa UI, and hopefully your best efforts towards the long-term code
base will be on the Cocoa UI side.
