MIDI Plugin AudioUnit?

  • Subject: MIDI Plugin AudioUnit?

I get the idea that MusicEffects are meant to use MIDI data as sidechain data for fiddling audio signals.

Is there a plugin type for MIDI effects? You know, arpeggiators, multi-triggers, filters, transposers, auto-chording, harmony generators....

Seems like a gaping hole in the architecture.
