What kind of meta info?
all meta info: title, artist, album, cover art, etc etc.

Theoretically yes - you can read/write the packets from one file to another without changing them in any way quite simply. (AudioFileReadPacket -> AudioFileWritePacket)
okay so it still sounds like i must copy the data from one file to a new file when i wish to *change* meta data (tagging info) is that correct?
