I believe that's what I'm trying to do, but I'm open to alternative
approaches. Essentially I'm trying to implement the audio portion
of a product that performs some functions similar to Airport
Express. For example, consider a situation where I want to provide
remote control of a computer's interface (e.g., Timbuktu,
PCAnywhere, etc.). Part of this would be to collect the audio
output of the target computer and pass it to the controlling
computer. Is there some other way to do this? Perhaps something
other than CoreAudio that I should be looking at?
Wouldn't AUNetSend and AUNetReceive be of any use here combined with
a way to get the system wide audio data? You might want to check out
what Rogue Amoeba is doing with Audio Hijack Pro and Airfoil. AHP
combined with AUNetSend and AUNetReceive might be a low budget solution.
Rogue Amoeba's website is simply http://www.rogueamoeba.com. HTH.
