You'll have to explain what you mean by "change the current output device". What exactly are you trying to do?

I've found a couple of examples on Apple's site on how to change the
current output device. I'm brand new to Core Audio, and I find the code
difficult to follow. Does someone know of a simple example on how to
change the output device? Looking through ComplexPlaythru, it seems (and I
may be wrong), but there is a lot involved. I would expect there to be a
single call like:
setOutputDevice(newDevice). Actually there is, its AudioDeviceSetProperty,
but it looks like there is a fair amount of work to be done before using
it. I looked at NSSound and Quicktime, but it looks as though you can't
switch output devices using those.
Sorry if this is too fundamental, but after working with Cocoa, it seems
that if somethings seems 'hard' you're probably going about it the wrong
way. So I'm going to ask before I get too far into this.
