Looping a MIDI file

I would be grateful if someone would explain to me how I can set looping points when playing a MIDI file using the MusicPlayer API. I am currently checking it myself but this sometimes overshoots, causing a note just after the loop point to be played for a fraction of a second.

Odd thing is, I am sure I saw a simple example in the SDK a few years ago but can't seem to find it now.
