Hard to say, but it may have been there from the beginning. I have a Phonic Firewire mixer that uses the default driver and it used to present clock sources and now it doesn't. When I turn it on it will not produce consistent latency unless I manually change the sample rate now. This was not the case in previous system versions to 10.4.10. I have also experienced audio discontinuities from certain inputs into multiple host applications although I have not done enough testing to determine whether this is driver or hardware related.
Sounds like somebody will be filing some bugs in BugReporter =)
