I just found out I did almost the same, except for two lines where I made mistakes: not defining the same client format, and not using the client format's "mBytesPerFrames" attributes in the loop, generating a division by zero.

Well not well documented beginner's mistakes.

I stil have a problem in the output file, due to a wrong sample rate somewhere probably (sounds like slow-motion).
I'll come back to the list if I can't figure out a way to solve it myself.
