There are some changes in C++ between 10.3.9 and 10.4 that make this
difficult. I presume you've set the deployment target to 10.3?

Should it be possible to build AUs that run on 10.3.9 with Xcode 3.0
& CoreAudioSDK 1.5?
I found that I had to use Xcode 2.5, but maybe I missed a trick
there..

You can use the latest SDK (10.5) - just make sure that your
deployment target is set to the minimum OS you want to support
(10.4 from what you say below)
There's a note about this in the CA Example read me

I'm developing an AU to be used by Tiger and Leopard users. If I
use Xcode 2.4.1 on Tiger 10.4.11, will it run on Leopard? If I
use Xcode 3 on Leopard, will it run on Tiger. The former uses the
"coreaudiosdk1.4.3" SDK which I installed, but AUs seem to be
built in to Xcode 3 on Leopard.
