New results are available at http://src.infinitewave.ca/ for
CoreAudio and Logic 8.
"Apple CoreAudio (Tiger)" = maximum quality available in the
AudioConverter (G5)
"Apple CoreAudio (Leopard)" = maximum quality for Mastering mode (G4)
"Logic 8 (Leopard)" = no dithering SRC on G4
All of these seem to allow some amount of aliasing, at least compared
to the "iZotope 64-bit SRC Steep, No Alias" and I suppose the 64-bit
SRC cannot be accelerated by Altivec or SSE.
Can anyone tell me whether G4 and G5 results would be bit-identical?
Are there examples of Altivec code which is G5-specific? My
assumption is that the PowerPC model set everything in stone before
the G4 or G5 implementations, and the only difference would be
speed. This thread has already pointed out differences between
Altivec and SSE which would differ, even when both are 32-bit.
Comments welcome, especially if you think I may have created the test
files incorrectly.
