Getting started

Thanks to everyone in advance -

I am fairly new to audio development and I have found it kinda difficult to find some gentle intros to coreaudio and audio software development in general. Are there any suggested material that I can read to get me started besides apples documentation (books etc)?

Also, I am wondering what the status is of coremidi/coreaudio via java? Are you able to access these resources completely in java? What is the suggested entry point for coreaudio and coremidi if java is not an option anymore?

I spent a few hours last week looking into java (I would much rather use this than C/++/obj c) and I found alot of people complaining about the current state of affairs with the java compatibility with coreaudio/midi, I sort of just want to set this one straight so I can go down the right path : )

Thanks -

Sam
