I am a total newbie to programming. I have read some books on C and Objective C. I have also been through some tutorials on basic Cocoa programming (Cocoa Recipes, Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X, Cocoa Programming). So I am really stupid about a lot of things regarding programming.
I am creating a application to teach kids basic music concepts. The application consists of a number of games. In the pitch games the players interact with either the mouse or the qwerty keyboard. I would like to have midi functionality so they can interact with their music keyboards. I cannot seem to penetrate this. I have linked my program with Core Midi but I am at a loss as what to do now.
I have no idea how to get the midi note on message to trigger my Action methods. Are there any tutorials or sample code that explains this. Or any information that points me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian
