Hi Bill,
Understood, but may I suggest adding a note about the non-support of
low-latency processing to the "overview" sections of the AudioQueue
documentation? The current documentation touts AudioQueue's
features but it should also discuss its limitations so that
programmers (like me) can select the appropriate interface for a
job. (BTW I'm completely new to CoreAudio)
Yes - that seems like a reasonable suggestion - we should do a Tech
Note for this
That said, would adding the capability for lower-latency processing
be possible to add to a future version of AudioQueue? I think it's
a really nicely designed library but perhaps the size of the
internal buffers can be varied easily?

And just to be fair - it wasn't in our design goals to have audio
queue be able to do low-latency audio I/O
We already have audio units (AUHAL for instance does both in and
out) for doing that, so we didn't think this was a problem that
needed to be addressed by the AQ.
