The network layer (i.e. how you actually send a MIDI stream once you've made
contact with the other party) is essentially identical to the RFCs.
What is different
is how the two parties find each other (i.e. session management -- the
equivalent
of dialing the phone).  You'll need to have someone at Apple give you details on
how that works, I don't know what their policy is at present on
releasing the info.
