Thanks Bill. Turned out that my project file was messed up so there
were all kinds of things going very very wrong. After creating a fresh
project file and adding the sources back in everything works fine now.
I will run a diff against the old project to be sure that this was
indeed the problem but for now it looks like I was chasing ghosts for
the past couple of days :-(
