AULab doesn't load AU when debugging

My AU doesn't get loaded by AU Lab when debugging. However, when I launch AU Lab on its own, my AU gets loaded fine and I can use it. I have tried setting the copy build phase to place the bundle in both the /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components and the user/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components directories. Also, the plug-in validates with the auval utility. I have Logic Express 7 which doesn't load my AU and the Logic AU manager doesn't see my plug-in at all.
