Leopard's version (/Developer/Examples/CoreAudio) is the most up to date. This builds AUs only on leopard, but it will run just fine on 10.4. As an FYI, that is our current plans for managing this; that our SDK (source) releases will build only on the most recent OS (that is, the current OS), but will generate code that is able to run on previous OS releases. You manage this by setting the deployment target in the project.

The most recent version of the SDK I see is 1.4.3 which dates from 2005 and talks about 10.4.x only. Is that the latest version?

Installing this version broke my ability to build the AU's I'm working on (somewhat expected) but I did get a bunch of useful text files I didn't have before :)
