Good point - it shouldn't be, so I'll check, and if it is remove it - its an oversight

Thanks for making this absolutely clear! IMHO the overall situation can only improve once there's only one type of GUI we need to support (and I for one am very happy to see it's the Cocoa GUI variant). While we're discussing auval: I noticed that when auval is validating in 64 Bit mode, it only checks 32 Bit audio streams. While I think it makes sense for a 64 Bit AU to support 32 Bit streams, shouldn't the default test be about 64 Bit audio streams? Right now (with an incomplete 64bit version of my plugin), my plugin only supports 32 bit audio streams and passes 64 bit auval just fine which IMHO is wrong.


To sum up, I think auval in 64 bit mode should force the plugins to accept a 64 bit audio stream (as well as 32 Bit), or am I totally confused?
