I'm creating short, LPCM canonical sound files and thought would be convenient to play them via AudioServicesPlaySystemSound, but when I try to create the AudioServicesCreateSystemSoundID I get an error -1500 = kAudioServicesSystemSoundUnspecifiedError. The short files and good, play elsewhere, and I've tried caf, aif, and wav with no luck. It may be related to length. Anyone know for sure? Just tested and yes, 3 seconds works longer did not. But quality after 1 second or disintegrated, as with a purged or unlocked handle. So not a v. useful call for this purpose.
