Subgraph Possibility?

Hello, I was wondering if this is possible...

FilePlayerUnit ------->  (SUBGRAPH) ---------->Mixer---------->Output

I realize you could put units there instead of the subgraph but I would
like to be able to turn those effects on and off. It seems like the Subgraph
compiles okay if its the first in line, but not with a file fed through it.
Help is appreciated thanks!
