AU Lab doesn't let me choose an audio input device

Hello
I can't add any input device (builin mic and builtin line, and i have
a samson c10u).
i had add an device with audio & midi setup, but i can't choose it in
au lab.
with console.app i figured out that au lab reports an error
03.06.09 19:25:12 AU Lab[66571] AudioDeviceAddPropertyListener for
kAudioDevicePropertyNominalSampleRate returned an error: 1852797029
i have tried all that i know, google and apple mailing list doesn't help
anyone any suggestions??
