There is no way to get this state currently... we also don't provide
any feedback from our apps if the ringer switch is on

Hi all,
Is there an API that reports the state of the silent switch on the
iphone? Currently I'm setting kAudioSessionProperty_AudioCategory
to kAudioSessionCategory_UserInterfaceSoundEffects and the audio
obeys they silent switch (which I want). I can over ride the silent
switch by setting it to kAudioSessionCategory_MediaPlayback, but all
I want is the ability to know the state of the switch so I can have
a visual indicator on my app to provide feedback to the user when
they try to play a sound.
I couldn't find anything in the mail archive, and it seems so simple
that I must be missing something.
Any pointers?
