I thought that I read once that CoreAudio cannot be used to time/pitch
shift a song on the iPhone right now. However, I certainly could be
wrong about that. I recently noticed that there is now an iPhone
version of Amazing Slow Downer, but they might be using a custom
algorithm to modify a song. If someone does discover the answer, I'd
be interested in knowing.

Chad

Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to get pitch-shifting and time-stretching in
realtime on the iPhone? The smbPitchShift code form dspDimensions
works great in the simulator, but not on the device. I also tried the
code from Paul Embree's book, but it doesn't even sound good on the
simulator. SoundTouch looks good, but I haven't been able to get it
to work yet. Same with STK. We can shift the pitch with OpenAL, but
the results are compressed - we need the duration to stay the same.
We would sure love to hear about it if anyone has a solution to this
problem or if Apple is about to release their audio unit for the
iPhone.
Thanks for your help,
Denise
