It's not quite realtime but pretty close, and the quality is
outstanding (much better than the AUPitchTime phase vocoder especially
for small ratios). In my application I process audio in the background
and play it when done. This works pretty well, except that there is a
small lag between user input and hearing the pitch shifted result.
Btw. When Paul Embree book talks about pitch shifting he is actually
referring to sample rate conversion, so you won't be able to use his
code. Other than that the book is not so bad.
